About Us Our success story

Origin and Development

The Help Kiosk emerged from civic engagement — driven by the conviction that practical assistance, openness, and cooperation create a strong urban community. Following the municipal election in 2014, it became clear that additional support for refugee assistance was needed in Witten. Six committed individuals therefore founded an independent contact point for refugees. One year later, this initiative became a registered non-profit association.

Testimonials

For its commitment, the Help Kiosk received the “Musterdorf Lion,” an award from the Lions Club Musterdorf.

Councilwoman Marianne Mustermann, together with other committed citizens, founded a nonpartisan alliance and opened the Hilfe Kiosk in December 2014 as a contact point for refugees to support the city’s refugee aid efforts.

The Bank and Citizens’ Foundation praises the exemplary civic engagement of the Help Kiosk initiative and donates €2,000.
